FIGHTING CANCER TAKES TEAMWORK
Our Hook-A-Cure event, in Gloucester, MA, is a super fun, family friendly, fishing tournament and fundraising event hosted by our organization, the Scrawney-Morgan Foundation. We started this Striped Bass/Bluefish fishing tournament in 2018 to raise funds to combat cancer in memory of Russell "Scrawney" Morris, a lifelong Gloucester resident and avid fisherman, and have been working to make our event fun for anglers and land-lovers alike!
In 2019, we partnered with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to help us meet one of our core values of raising funds for families in need affected by cancer diagnosis. In 2021 we've broadened our event by adding the biggest catch of them all—the Giant Bluefin Tuna!
The Scrawney-Morgan Foundation has been honored to raise funds for the Dana-Farber/PMC/Jimmy-Fund to aid in their groundbreaking Cancer research for a number of years. Now with Joe Andruzzi aboard, none of us will stop until that mission is complete!
