Our goal was always to have a part of our fundraising go to families in need. A Cancer diagnosis is emotionally as well as financially devastating. As we explored ways to make this happen, we discovered it was already being done in a top flight manner through the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.
For those of you who are Patriot fans (I mean, who isn't these days?), you know the three-time Super Bowl Champ found himself face to face with a cancer diagnosis in 2007. After a hellish trip where he and his family fought to get him better, he knew he had to pay it forward. That's when he created JAF and its wonderful mission helping those in the New England area.

As the Scrawney-Morgan Foundation, we've been honored to raise funds for the Dana-Farber, PMC, Jimmy Fund to aid in their groundbreaking cancer research. Our Hook-A-Cure Fishing Tournament is just the latest event we hope will help us succeed in our venture. Since Russell passed away, we have been lucky enough to meet some of the most awe-inspiring doctors whose daily mission is to stop this scourge.
I've seen them excited at a potential breakthrough. I've seen them exhausted from a hard day of frustration. I have come to know them as the true superheroes in our lives. They say all superheroes don't wear capes. We have met an army of them.
For those who don't know the Dana-Farber team, I count you as lucky. With luck, it means cancer has not invaded your life, and hopefully, their work will keep it that way.
